NPTEL in association with NASSCOM (and other industry partners) will be offering certification in programming, using MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) from January 2014, which is expected to be potentially valuable for employment.

We would like to invite students from selected colleges to participate in the Beta testing of these course offerings.

Courses Offered: Programming, Data Structures, Algorithms

Duration of the courses (Beta Testing): 2 weeks

Who can Register for the courses (Beta Testing)

Students from 2nd year onwards from selected institutions can register
Students (from 2nd year onwards) can register on the web portal nptelmooc2013.appspot.com from December 26, 2013 until January 1, 2014 and take the MOOC form January 2, 2014
Write "honour-code-based" online assignments/exams (Non proctored, no fee)
Participation certificates will be given to students who successfully complete all the three courses including all assignments and exams ("honour-code-based" online assignments/exams - Not proctored & NO FEE.

Role of Colleges in Beta testing:

Enroll Students from second year onwards - Students will register on the web portal nptelmooc2013.appspot.com
Enrollment limited to 50 students per year from your college, from 2nd year onwards
Provide necessary internet & computer facility and / or projection facility to enable students to view the lectures
Enrollment limited to students from 10 selected colleges on first-come-first served basis.

Participation certificates: Participation certificate will be given only to students who successfully complete all three courses including all assignments and exams ("honour-code-based" online assignments/exams - Not proctored & NO FEE)

This certificate is expected to be potentially valuable for employment.
